This video course is designed to give educators, support staff, and family members a systematic approach to helping students develop a positive identity as people with disabilities. Engaging activities are provided to help adults support young people to accept their disabilities, get comfortable asking for help, practice self-advocacy skills, reject shame, and value being a part of an amazing community of people who have used their differences to change the world. Within this course LeDerick Horne draws upon his own experiences as a person with a learning disability who went from a self-contained special education classroom to a successful business owner who inspires people all over the world. Each session in this course is filled with moving stories, inspiring poetry, and research-based resources from the book LeDerick co-authored.
